Vancouver BC to Dawson Creek, BC

We left Vancouver on Wednesday, June 10th, and drove about 250 miles to Clinton, BC. We drove along the Fraser River much of the way and the highway was hilly and curvy.

We overnighted in Clinton at the Gold Trail RV Park. It had a small restaurant and the RV park owner offered a nightly bar-b-que buffet. We all decided to have the pork baby back ribs and must admit they were some of the best any of us had eaten.
We departed early the next morning and drove about 240 miles to Bee Lazee RV Park, just outside of Prince George, BC. We explored Prince George the next day and enjoyed lunch at an Indian restaurant and a stop at Dairy Queen.

On Saturday, June 13th we departed Prince George for the 250-mile drive to Dawson Creek. On the way to Dawson Creek, we crossed the very northern part of the Rocky Mountains and spotted our first wildlife on or alongside the highway. We saw a moose cow, a black bear, a juvenile bald eagle, a ptarmigan, and two deer. The wildlife were way too quick for us to get our camera out in time. The moose ran into the woods and we couldn’t stop, with traffic behind us, to get a photo of the bear.
