Titusville is on the “space coast” near NASA’s Kennedy
Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Our RV site at Willow Lakes was next door to Jay and
Audrey, a couple we had met before and socialized with. They had built a new
home on their lot, but it was only framed in the last time we saw it. It also
has a RV pad next to the house.
Also at Willow Lakes was Bob and Diane, a retired Air
Force couple we met 2 ½ years ago at Lake Powell and we’ve since seen in
Albuquerque and Forest City, Iowa. They bought a very nice one bedroom house
with RV pad and spend winters at Willow Lakes.
One day we drove to Patrick Air Force Base, just
south of Cocoa Beach, to check out the Family Campground. We also checked out
the nice beaches on the Atlantic and then stopped by the Ron Jon Surf Shop in
Cocoa Beach to pick up a t-shirt.We spent a couple of evenings with Ron and Kathy, another couple we had met before at Willow Lakes. On Monday we went to Fish Lips Waterfront Bar & Grill in Port Canaveral for all you can eat snow crab. Ron and Kathy taught us a new card game called “Golf” and it was a lot of fun to play. It is similar to golf where the lowest score wins and each game consists of 9 or 18 hands.
We are headed to the Fort Lauderdale area where we have RV park reservations and plan to go to the Miami Boat Show next weekend. However, we couldn’t find a place to stay along the coast until then, so we’re back in the Tampa area at Lazydays RV Resort for a week.
