Lake Powell (Week 1)

We arrived in Page, Arizona and Lake Powell on Saturday, September 12th. Saturday was a nice, sunny warm day. Wahweap Campground assigned us three sites in Loop C.  We haven’t stayed in Loop C in a couple of years, but got lucky with some excellent, double-wide, paved sites. Our site turned out to have good afternoon shade.

On Sunday, it began raining for three days, but only in the late afternoon and evenings. We celebrated my birthday on Monday with the annual dinner at Fiesta Mexicana in Page with Julie, my sister Marcia, brother-in-law Mike and our friends Kris and Jan from Albuquerque.

Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, along with Mike and Kris’s help, we replaced the bunks on the boat trailer with new pressure treated wood and carpeting.
Thursday afternoon we took the boat out with Mike & Marcia for several hours and enjoyed a swim in the lake. The skies were sunny, with temperatures in the mid-80s and the water temperature was a nice 78-degrees.

We watched the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs football game Thursday night outside the motorhome. What and exciting game it was. Go Broncos!

We took the boat out again yesterday and enjoyed lunch at the Antelope Point marina. Antelope Point was sponsoring an annual Lake Powell Challenge poker run and we saw several “go fast” off-shore type boats.
